Adding "see more at our site" inside the description seems harmless, and on your own store it is. In a Meta catalog it is one of the things the specification names directly, because the product URL already has its own field.
What the policy actually says
«Use plain text (not HTML) and don't enter text in all capital letters or include any links.»
Official policy · quoted word for word, checked
against the source on 2026-09-20.
This one costs you visibility rather than blocking you.
How to fix it in Shopify
Take every link out of the description, including the ones written as plain text like www.example.com.
The product URL is a separate field: it does not belong inside the text.
Watch out for size guides or care instructions pasted into descriptions in bulk, which usually carry links with them.
Check your whole store for this
Doing this by hand for one product is easy. Doing it for every product, and for the
store-level rules that suspend accounts, is not. Type your store address and see where you
stand, with the policy quoted next to each finding.
We only read what your store already publishes to any visitor.
No access, no passwords, nothing about your customers.
